The Aung Lab aims to quantitatively understand immunological phenomena and engineer approaches to modulate immunological pathways for therapeutic benefit. Specifically, we are interested in: (i) developing analytical tools to investigate the changes in lymphocyte populations that recognize, expand, and differentiate in response to vaccine antigens following immunization, (ii) creating strategies to broaden the role of B-cells in response to diseases, and (iii) devise biological and fluidic based tools to model and study human specific humoral responses.

Ultimately, we will, first and foremost, strive to identify crucial immunology questions and rely on a plethora of engineering approaches to obtain in-depth answers. From these findings, we hope to guide and develop the next generation of immunotherapeutics.
