Introducing the Department of Immunology Teaching Awards!


The Department of Immunology will award annual Teaching Awards in four categories. The purpose of these awards is to honour excellence by Departmental teaching assistants and faculty members in Departmental graduate and undergraduate courses.

Nominations for the 2021-22 awards will be accepted from April 1 to May 13, 2022.

Department of Immunology Teaching Awards

Immunology Teaching Assistant Award
The Immunology Teaching Assistant Award will be awarded to a graduate student teaching assistant in an IMM course who has demonstrated excellence in teaching.
Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching in Immunology Award
This award recognizes faculty members who teach, coordinate, and/or develop undergraduate lecture, seminar, or lab courses, and demonstrate an exceptional commitment to undergraduate student learning and mentorship.
Excellence in Graduate Teaching in Immunology Award
This award recognizes outstanding contribution to the training and experience of graduate students, as evidenced by excellence in teaching, dedication, and being a role model to students.
Innovation in Teaching Immunology Award
The Innovation in Teaching Immunology Award recognizes innovative teaching and learning strategies and assessment methods and provides an opportunity to engage Immunology faculty in a process of documenting their scholarly approach to teaching and learning. Examples of innovation in undergraduate and/or graduate education include:
- Establishing new mentorship opportunities
- Curriculum development
- Regular support of departmental undergraduate and/or graduate activities
- Undergraduate and/or graduate program administration (as applicable)
